The MGA Volunteer Leadership Training Program (VoLT) was designed to: a) accelerate volunteers’ knowledge of the IEEE organization, products & services, and resources available to them; b) help volunteers understand their role within their local units and within the larger IEEE and c) create a succession tool that develops and prepares future IEEE volunteer leaders.

The program consists of two tracks: Track 1 includes the 9 sessions below. They cover an introduction to each organizational unit of the IEEE and is available to all IEEE volunteers. Track 1 is available year-round. Volunteers who complete Track 1 may apply for consideration for the program's Track 2.  That applicaitno window is in May and June.  Track 2 (the VoLT Program) starts in early September each year and lasts three months. It consists of live weekly webinars on various leadership and IEEE related topics.  During Track 2 participants will work on a demanding team project assignment.

This session provides an overview of IEEE Affinity groups (Women in Engineering, Young Professionals, and Life Members), their  structure and role in the IEEE; their main products, resources, and professional development programs available to volunteers.

Introduction to IEEE Educational Activities EAB

This session provides an overview of Educational Activities structure, its role in the IEEE, its professional development programs, and how volunteers can take advantage of them.

IEEE Membership Development Overview

This session covers the types of membership programs in IEEE combined with discussion about membership retention and growth.

Introduction to IEEE

This session  provides information about the IEEE as an organization, its structure, its governance, and strategic direction; it includes who is who in IEEE and how volunteers play a critical role in its larger picture.

Introduction to IEEE Standards Association

This session provides an overview of Standards Association structure, its role in the IEEE, and services and resources available to volunteers.

This session provides an overview of Publications products and services,  its structure, its role in the IEEE, and resources available to volunteers.
